Dr. Kleper de Almeida

MD, FACP

Dr Kleper de Almeida MD FACP is a distinguished Board-certified infectious disease physician committed to delivering high-quality care to patients in South Florida. With extensive experience and international training, Dr. de Almeida brings a comprehensive and compassionate approach to the management of a wide range of infectious conditions.
Dr. de Almeida grew up in Brazil and graduated from the Federal University of Bahia Faculty of Medicine in Bahia, Brazil. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and his specialization in Infectious Diseases at Northwestern University in Chicago. Thereafter, he went for a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where he studied fungi and the infectious complications of Bone Marrow Transplant recipients.
He was a member of the Infectious Diseases faculty at Drexel University Medical School in Philadelphia until moving to Palm Beach County in 2005. He is an affiliated assistant professor of medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and coordinates the Infectious Diseases rotation at the Internal Medicine Residency Program at JFK Medical Center, the first of its kind in Palm Beach County. He has been chosen as Attending physician of the year by the JFK Medical Center and Wellington Regional Medical Center internal medicine residents. He is a reviewer for medical journals and an active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
He has been a member of the Educational and Ethics committees and the Board of the Palm Beach County Medical Society. He was a Member of the Educational Committee at the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Currently, he is a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics and the Research Committees; the Chairman of the Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees; and he is the Treasurer and Member of the Medical Executive Committee of JFK Medical Center. He is passionate about demystifying and communicating the latest advances in Medicine to his students, residents and, most importantly, his patients.
