The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recently voted to remove the hepatitis B vaccine’s universal birth dose recommendation. In response, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released a statement continuing to recommend the hepatitis B vaccine for all infants.
